Staff Highlight (February)

Updated: May 17, 2021

Since August of 2018, Thrive Central Oregon has had a unique partnership with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest/Americorps programs. Volunteers through this program complete a one year, full-time volunteer position, focusing their time on the core values of: social and ecological justice, simple living, community, and spirituality. We are grateful to have one volunteer with the Jesuit Volunteer Northwest/Americorps programs this year, Rylie.

Rylie is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with degrees in Biology and Peace Studies. She will be pursuing her MD and is looking forward to starting medical school in August! At Thrive, Rylie splits her time between conducting phone appointments with clients and processing rental assistance applications.

Through her position, she has learned so much about the housing market and how to accompany folks through all types of difficulties. She loves the work Thrive does for the Central Oregon community and how supportive the staff is. Since living here, she's enjoyed taking advantage of the many hiking trails Oregon has to offer. On her bucket list for 2021 is summiting South Sister and hiking the Oregon section of the PCT!
