This month we chat with Jody, who currently provides services in Prineville and La Pine- and fills in other spots when needed! She tells us a little about herself and her work in social services across Central Oregon.
I have lived in Central Oregon for over twenty-five years now and can’t imagine a more beautiful place to reside. I’ve been married for eighteen years and have a wonderful daughter that will be a senior this year at Mountain View High School. We do a lot of activities as a family and enjoy the outdoors in camping, fishing and kayaking to name a few. I am a huge animal lover, both cats and dogs, as I have one of each.
I have worked in the social services field my entire adult life. After completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science in Austin Texas, I returned to Oregon. I have worked for many different non-profits throughout Central Oregon and have appreciated them all. I’ve been working at Thrive Central Oregon for five months now and have enjoyed every minute. The population and diversity of individuals that Thrive works with is inspirational. It’s amazing the way Thrive meets clients where they’re at, traveling to locations all over Central Oregon to reach as many individuals and families as possible. It’s very difficult for people to connect with resources when they don’t know what’s out there to help. This is where Thrive comes in to assist with that connection and support clients as they move forward in life. I am inspired daily in the resilience our clients have in times of distress.
