Team Highlight: Allie

This month we highlight our bookkeeper Allie Umtuch. Allie takes care of all things finance and we are so grateful for all of the hard work she puts in.

When asked to share a little bit about herself she said, “I was born and raised in Portland Oregon, specifically in a close knit community called Sellwood. My husband and I are highschool sweethearts and have grown into a larger family with 3 kids and two dogs. We moved to Bend in January 2023 and have been loving the outdoors with all of the sun! Outside of working with Thrive, I love to explore new places with my family, play PC games and I am currently pursuing my bachelors in accounting.”

Allie shared that she first became interested in working at Thrive because of it’s mission and being a non-profit. “When I first took a look at Thrive Central Oregon, I didn't know much about non-profits other than the idea that they help people in need. This really interested me because all of my life I truly love to help others. The moment I met the staff during my interview I felt so comfortable and excited. Now that I have gotten the opportunity to grow within Thrive, I understand how much of a difference we make in the community.”

When asked what her favorite part about working for Thrive is, she said “My favorite part about working with Thrive is during our staff meetings I get to listen to our amazing advocates who work directly in the field, talk about the stories of how we have helped individuals and families in our community with housing, food, and other resources. The excitement we all get in the office when an advocate is able to get someone housed or keep them housed is electrifying.”

Allie is someone who has gone to school for many things, and loves to read and learn so the quote she lives by is "Learn as if you will live forever, live like you will die tomorrow" - Mahatma Ghandi

Thank you Allie, for all that you do!
