This month we are highlighting
This month we are highlighting one of our newest Community Outreach Advocates, Danica Gary. Danica graduated from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exploring the outdoors, and cuddling up next to her cat. She has always been fascinated with the creative arts and feels most at home when she’s allowed to express her creativity. In the past, she has participated in multiple slam poetry competitions.
Danica and her partner recently discovered the beauty of Central Oregon and when they visited a few months ago, they knew they wanted to move to the area. When asked what brought her to Thrive she said, “When applying to jobs, Thrive immediately caught my eye. In a previous social work position, I gained a passion for systems advocacy. Since one of Thrive's values is advocacy, I immediately felt a connection to the organization.” When asked what her favorite part about Thrive is, she said, “ I really love the collaborative environment at Thrive. I also enjoy hearing the many stories from members of the community.”
Danica’s favorite quote came from when she first read the Harry Potter series in middle school,
