For this month’s newsletter, we are highlighting one of our newer Community Outreach Advocates, Matias Silvestre! Matias grew up in the suburbs around Portland and has lived in Bend for nearly 3 years. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his friends, going to concerts, skiing, playing soccer, reading, and imbibing brewed beverages on occasion.
When asked what brought him to Thrive Central Oregon, Matias said, “I was looking to return to community-based work and Thrive stood out as a fit for me.” When talking about his role as Community Outreach Advocate, Matias said that he enjoys advocating for his clients and having the opportunity to make a positive impact on someone’s life every day.
Matias’ favorite quote, made famous by his friend Irving, is:
"Life is all about leveling up."
