You may remember from last month's newsletter that we were announcing our very first Fiesta del Barrio - Community Block Party in Madras. Well, it was a real hit! Such a hit, that we are hosting ANOTHER one in Madras Dec. 13th (see info below)!
This event was a collaborative event, intended to bring resources, fun, and vaccines to the Madras community. Hosted at the Rolling Sage affordable apartment complex, the Oregon Health Authority team administered an estimated 50 shots--including COVID-19 vaccines, boosters, and flu shots! (check out our cool COVID piñata by The Piñata Lady in the pics below!)
Members of the Latino Community Association and a Farmworker Outreach Coordinator from the Oregon Child Development Coalition also joined our team in connecting with community members and handing out resources and food boxes. We are so grateful for all the people who helped make this event the success that it was!
