For this month’s client highlight, we spoke with Sharon to learn more about her and her experience working with Thrive. Sharon has lived in Central Oregon for nearly 24 years. Her favorite hobbies include spending time with her family and 5-year-old cat, sightseeing in different parts of Oregon, and going on road trips.
Sharon first heard about Thrive Central Oregon through a member of her church. She has been actively working with Thrive to find a sustainable place to live for nearly two years. Although Sharon has worked with many different community outreach advocates, she has consistently been working with Danica. She was recently approved for an apartment and is getting excited to move into her new place! When asked about her experience working with our advocates, Sharon said, “They are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.”
Sharon’s advice for others out there in a similar situation is, “Don’t give up on yourself or the process. It can be a lengthy process and sometimes you can feel overwhelmed. You can feel that nothing is happening. But things are happening. Just don’t give up.”
A quote that Sharon wanted to share with the community is:
“Don’t stress over things you can’t control.”
