For this month’s client highlight we spoke with Stacy to learn more about her and her experience working with Thrive. Stacy has lived in Central Oregon for over 25 years and is proud to call Central Oregon home. Stacy has many hobbies and interests but her favorite thing to do is create art. She especially loves painting, chalking, and inking.
Stacy first heard of Thrive through Neighbor Impact when she was inquiring about energy assistance. Stacy had recently received a Housing Choice Voucher and thought she would reach out to Thrive to see if they could assist her in finding a rental to use with her voucher.
When asked what her experience working with Thrive was like, she said, “It was amazing. Oz was so helpful and professional. Oz was so great and I believe that God works through people like him.” Stacy started working with Oz when she first got her voucher and worked with him all through the process of leasing up her voucher at her new apartment. Stacy ran into a few bumps when it came to leasing up her voucher at her new apartment and Oz was there to advocate for her throughout the whole process. Even when she was discouraged, Oz and Thrive encouraged her to keep going and now she is happy to say that she is about to move in.
Stacy said her advice for others who might be in a similar situation would be to absolutely go to Thrive. She is so grateful for her experience and recommends that anyone with a voucher reach out to Thrive for support. Working with Thrive has made her more hopeful and she is looking forward to this new start.
When asked if she has a favorite quote or words of wisdom, Stacy said the psalm, “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5, NKJV)
